8 March 2024. Dubai, UAE.
The Spanish Business Council recently hosted its #GalaDinner at the exquisite 99 Sushi Bar & Restaurant in Dubai. Over 130 guests filled the evening with elegance and meaningful connections as we celebrated ties between #Spain and the #UnitedArabEmirates.
We extend our gratitude to our esteemed sponsors whose generous support made this event possible: Noatum, Royal Arrow Management Services, Tecnicas Reunidas, Ninety Nine SB Investment, Acciona, Aiuken Cybersecurity, Amadeus IT Group, Augusta Capital, Barcelo Hotel Group Cosentino, Coxabengoa, Emirates, Melia International Hotels, Pardo&Partners, Typsa, Rif Trust, Whitehall&Consulting; and as Gala Dinner’s sponsor were Grupo Oesia. Their unwavering dedication reflects a shared commitment to advancing mutual prosperity and collaboration on both regional and global stages.
The Gala Dinner brought together a distinguished gathering of business leaders, esteemed representatives from top companies, and the honorable Ambassador of Spain to the UAE, Iñigo de Palacio España. Their presence underscored the deep-rooted friendship and the remarkable growth in economic ties between our two nations.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the inspiring speeches delivered by Guillermo Cobelo, President of the SBC, and the Ambassador of Spain to the UAE, Iñigo de Palacio España. Their words resonated deeply, reaffirming the strength of our alliance and the boundless potential for future endeavors.
In recognition of excellence and innovation, we were honored to present the prestigious awards for ‘Emirati Business woman of the Year’, HH Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, ‘Spanish Businessman of the Year’, Dani García – The Chef, and ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’, Salvador Medina – Spanish Society. These remarkable individuals received a timeless symbol of artistry and tradition – the exquisite Menina sculpture crafted by the talented artist, Felipao.
In the words of Salvador: “only a few days ago, we celebrated the fourth anniversary since the inception of the Spanish Society of Dubai; created to bring together, primarily through events and sports activities, the vibrant Spanish community in Dubai. Our goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle and bridge the gap between different communities through the values of sport; but also, to do so by promoting Spanish culture and that unique sense of “enjoyment” that characterizes us. (…) I would like to thank all those who, over these years, have proactively and often selflessly helped to make ‘la Spanish’ a reference point today: Jose Nacher, Mariano Andrés, Pablo Ferreira, Jaime Castañeda, Luis Cobo, Luis Conde, and many others. Without you, none of this would have been possible, and of course, to our fantastic community.”.
