Business Seminar ¨skills for networking¨ took place last tuesday on Capital Club, DIFC, Dubai. The event was hosted by the Danish Business Council, the Italian Business Council and the Spanish Business Council.
After a short coffee time while all the attendees where arriving to the place, Mr. Thomas Paoletti, Chairman of the Italian Business Council, welcomed the guests and gave the floor to the speaker Mr. Phil Bedford.
Mr. Bedford, a very charismatic and dynamic person, told the audience the importance of a good networking skills. Networking is not just given cards between two people. It is the beginning of a relationship. This relationship could be business, could be support or could be friendship. Mr Bedford continued saying the importance of listening what the other person is telling, but the most relevant point is to follow-up. He pointed that you should follow up between 5-12 times to start building the relationship after your first meeting.
Among the attendees we counted with the presence of Mr. Albert Jové, Vice Chairman of the Spanish Business Council, Mr. Mariano Andrés and Mr. Ignacio Saralegui, members of the board of the SBC.
