Second Inter Business Councils Infrastructure-Energy Forum

More than 80 people attended to the Second Inter Business Councils Infrastructure –Energy Forum hosted by Spanish Business Council, British Business Group, Canadian Business Council, French Business Council and Italian Business Council.

The Forum has been conducted by Terry Willis (Director Middle East, Africa & Cis EICUCK Middle East) who has introduced the speakers and moderated the panel discussion.

Mr Edward Bell (Director, Commodities Research, and Emirates NBD) has made a presentation regarding Macroeconomic Situation and Outlook of the energy sector in UAE and GCC. Expecting that oil production on 2018 will recover in the GCC oil exporting countries, supporting overall GDP growth.

On the other hand Alia Sughayer Almansoori, General management – BD&E EVP office, Dewa, ‘we want to be among the best countries in the world by 2021”has said as strategic direction. She continues explaining the strategic project to follow that includes 10 individual programs. She also commented the implemented initiatives like connecting solar energy to houses building, smart application VIA smart grid and meters, and infrastructure and electric vehicles charging stations.

Finally has been a panel discussion where Jesus Sancho, General Manager, from Acciona and member of the SBC has participated together with Karl Matalani, SVP Middles East Power from SNC Lavalin, and Yousef Al Zuhair, Executive Business Development Manager from ACWA Power. It was an interesting panel where the speakers shared their experience and their vision about the projects and situation in the UAE.
