On 31 December 1881, a group of 127 businessmen and traders from Sabadell (Barcelona) founded the Bank with the purpose of financing local industry and providing it with raw materials (wool and coal) under more favourable conditions.

After 125 years of dedication to the bank business, it has become the fourth Spanish financial institution and the first bank of Catalonia.

Banco Sabadell has a few total assets that overcome 80.000 million Euros and a stock exchange capitalization of 6.000 million Euros.

The Group is comprised of different banks, brands, subsidiaries and part-owned companies covering all areas of the financial business sector under a common denominator: professional performance and quality. A Multibrand, Multichannel strategy

One of our strategic differential characteristics is the specialization by clients’ segments and geographical areas. Thus, the brand Solbank has a network of offices destined for the residential European tourism, focused essentially in the coastal zones. The brand Banco Herrero acts in Asturias and León, where it has a dominant position, and has also constituted the entity Dexia Sabadell Banco Local, which together with the Group Dexia, is devoted to the financial requirements of the public Spanish administrations.

After a continued expansion initiated in 1965, nowadays the Group Banco Sabadell possesses a network of 1.230 branches and more than 9.000 employees, which allow it to have presence in all the regions of Spain and to direct representation in other 22 countries.
